It's official. I've finished a masters degree in Ethnomusicology. If you don't know what that is, you're not alone. In a nut-shell, Ethnomusicology is the study of music and culture. It's an interdisciplinary field that combines anthropology, sociology, and music history. Though I love Ethno (that's what people in the 'know' call Ethnomusicology) I don't wanna' be an academic.
The work is too insular, too lonely...not for me.
So where does that leave me?
UNEMPLOYED MASTER! (It's my new super hero name.)
What to do?
Find a job?
Hmmm...
What do I want to do?
Work with people, work in the arts and culture sector, make a small but positive difference in peoples' lives. Fairly basic stuff, I think.
Search for a job.
Huh...the job search...right. Ok, finding a job, any job, is going to be tough but that's why I've called it an adventure.
That's why I've started this blog. What to expect from future posts? Anything really! I guess I'll be keeping track of my job search, but will most likely get side-tracked by other great stuff like shows I go to, movies I see, people I meet, blah, blah, blah.
